La arquitectura Vernácula trata sobre la edificación modesta, sencilla, fundamentalmente nativa del medio rural. Corresponde a la imagen de poblados y comunidades de gran atractivo en zonas turísticas del país; se le encuentra también en el entorno de zonas urbanas como transición entre la ciudad y el campo.
Es un testimonio de la cultura popular, conserva materiales y sistemas constructivos regionales de gran adecuación al medio, por lo que constituye un patrimonio enorme y de vital importancia, que debe ser protegido y conservado. La arquitectura vernácula por otro lado refleja las tradiciones transmitidas de una generación a otra y que generalmente se ha producido por la población sin la intervención de técnicos o especialistas, siempre ha respondido a las condiciones de su contexto, buscando, a través de la sabiduría popular, sacar el mayor partido posible de los recursos naturales disponibles para maximizar la calidad y el confort de las personas.
Para hablar de la arquitectura vernácula hay que tratar una serie de temas, los cuales son importantes para su desarrollo y su entendimiento, ya que está ligada a los mismos y no se puede hablar sólo de ella. Por eso en este trabajo presento una serie de temas y sub temas, los cuales son importantes y de mucha ayuda para entender la arquitectura vernácula, ya que esta al investigarse y hablarse sobre la misma no se encuentra sola, tiene mucho que ver con la naturaleza y el clima y otros temas más que son fundamentales.
CLIMA
Es el conjunto de fenómenos meteorológicos que caracterizan el estado medio de la atmósfera en una región de la superficie terrestre.
Para definir el clima de un lugar se consideran los mismos elementos que para definir el tiempo meteorológico: temperatura, presión, precipitaciones, etc.; pero basándose en observaciones prolongadas (realizadas durante no menos de 10 años) y trabajando con los promedios de los datos obtenidos. Con estos datos se pueden delinear a grandes rasgos los distintos tipos climáticos.
